Stem Cell Core

Recognizing that an increasing number of investigators are working with adult-derived bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs), and that the study of these cells is a rapidly expanding research area, the Musculoskeletal Research Center Stem Cell Core has recently been established.

The primary functions of the Stem Cell Core are to procure, isolate, purify and expand murine and human BMSCs for investigators.  Unique services provided by the Stem Cell Core are:

I. Isolation and purification of BMSCs

II. Banking of BMSCs for future use

III. In vitro and in vivo validation of BMSCs multipotency

IV. Consultation and education on specialized procedures for BMSC research

The Stem Cell Core is co-directed by Paul H. Krebsbach, D.D.S., Ph.D and Kurt D. Hankenson, D.V.M., Ph.D. For information or service requests, please contact:
